Now that the east coast – west coast beef has subsided, North Coast is stepping up to throw down. Watch as New York’s premier freestyle rapping, beatboxing, long-form improv team performs a fully improvised “hip-hopera” right in front of your very eyes.
North Coast has been doin’ big things in the New York City improv scene for almost 3 years. They have held it down at The Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, The People’s Improv Theater, ImprovBoston, UCB East, Gotham Comedy Club, The Tank, The Creek, Under St Marks, and various other improv joints.
They have also performed at various festivals all over the country including the North Carolina Comedy Arts Festival, the Women in Comedy Festival, Boston Improv Festival, Del Close Marathon, and the New York Musical Improv Festival!
In addition, North Coast has been invited to colleges and camps around the U.S. where they have performed, and led workshops teaching attendees how to freestyle rap, beatbox, and do improv! They’ve also been hired by companies for promotional videos. They have worked with New York University, Fordham University, New York Institute of Technology, Driver Digital, and Camp Summer Stars, among others. (Hire us! More information here.)
They have also been teaching a “Hip Hop Improv” workshop at the Magnet Theater since 2011.
